Creatures

Giant worm, pterosaur and slime men attack your city. How the fights work, how the weapons factory helps and what happens when a beast escapes.

Skater

Giant creatures live on AZ884. From area 4 on, your city becomes interesting to them. Between two creatures there are 4 days to 8 days, and between two attacks of any kind always at least 1 day.

Creatures steal nothing. If you defeat them, your city is happier for 1 day. If they escape, it is unhappy for just as long: more vacancy and less tax. What decides is the damage your defense deals before the beast leaves again.

Who fights

  • Defense units in range fire on their own as long as they have power (Defense units).
  • Ships in a hangar join in and circle the beast (Fleet and missions).
  • Ground troops: 24 free soldiers move in on hover cars.
  • Weapons factory staff: if the scene lies within the radius of a Weapons Factory, its soldiers and generals come along. Each general makes all soldiers in the fight 25% stronger.

The closer a unit stands to the beast, the more damage gets through. Ships hit weaker than units, but creatures never attack ships.

Giant worm

Giant worm

The worm breaks out of the ground in the middle of a zone, preferably within the radius of a weapons factory and in range of your units. It avoids hero buildings. The zone houses around the spot collapse. They grow back after the fight, the ground there only stays empty for a short while.

  • Every 15 seconds it strikes at a nearby unit. Small units are hit harder.
  • Every 9 to 13 seconds it spits a purple glowing lava ball. It aims at the unit that is doing it the most damage right now, otherwise at the nearest one, up to 150 fields away and on roofs too. A lava ball can destroy a unit.
  • Every 6 to 9 seconds it releases poison. 10 to 15 glowing orbs in light blue, turquoise and green rain down around it. Each one only scratches the units where it lands.
  • With a blow to the ground it hurls soldiers through the air, every 10 to 16 seconds. Every 8 to 14 seconds it snaps one up and eats it. After that a new soldier moves in every 6 seconds until all are back. Soldiers from your factory are back after the fight.
  • If the fight lasts longer than 3 min and it still has more than 35% health, it digs in. For 10 seconds it is underground and cannot be hit. Then it breaks out again at least 40 fields away. The soldiers run after it, the cars fly along.
  • After 10 min at the latest it is gone again. At the end it disappears back into its hole, the fog above clears after a few seconds.

Pterosaur

Pterosaur
Pterosaur

The pterosaur circles high above the city. Every 18 to 28 seconds it shoots a fire bolt from its beak. It hits the nearest unit ahead of it, up to 90 fields away. It never shoots backwards. Now and then it also spits a purple ball at a power plant. The plant then fails for 10 min. It has a lot of health. Without defense it leaves on its own after 1 h. At the end it hovers on the spot for a moment, screeches and flies away.

A running Particle Shield keeps the purple balls out.

Slime men

Slime men
Slime men

3 slime men climb out of a poison lake and walk very slowly towards your nearest units. When one reaches a unit, it swells up and explodes. The unit is destroyed, and the shockwave damages units nearby. Green stains stay on the ground for a while. If there is no unit, they walk to a fusion plant and shut it down for 12 h.

On the way a green poison puddle keeps popping up around a large slime as soon as a unit is within 14 fields. All units in the puddle take damage. If you defeat a large slime, it splits into 10 small ones. They hop apart and scurry on towards the same target. A small one no longer destroys a unit, it only damages it. In the box above the build bar the large ones show as bars, the small ones as dots.

After the fight

A report appears in the weapons factory window and in your mailbox: how long the fight lasted and which units were destroyed. Destroyed units stand crooked, smoke and stop firing. Repair them by hand or let your factory's mechanics take care of it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I lose a fight even though I have many units?

Yes, if they stand too far away or have no power. What counts is the damage per second that reaches the beast.

Does the factory staff also help against fleets?

No. Soldiers and generals only fight creatures. Against other fleets, units and ships count (Attacks).
