Power Plants
Fusion power plant, thermal power plant, Red Fusion and Bits Cube: output, reach, cost and upgrades.
The power plants
| Power plant | Output | Reach | Cost | per city |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fusion power plant | 30 MW | 42 tiles | first one free, then 3,500,000 $ and 1,000 metal | no limit |
| Thermal power plant | 8 MW | 34 tiles | 400,000 $ and 60 metal | 10 |
| Red Fusion | 60 MW | 42 tiles | VIP reward | 2 |
| Bits Cube | 1 MW | 30 tiles | voucher from the Bits Shop | no limit |
Fusion power plant
The most important power source. The Colonial Authority gives you the first one. Upgrades raise its output: level 2 adds +25 MW, level 3 another +50 MW. You have to research both levels first (Fusion Level 2, Fusion Level 3). The upgrades cost a lot of spice (Upgrades and Levels).

Thermal power plant
Cheaper and quicker to build than a fusion power plant, with less output and a smaller reach. It makes power from the heat of the lava. Good for closing gaps in the grid and supplying the growing city.

More output
- research Fusion Efficiency and Thermal Efficiency: more output per level
- research Grid Range: larger reach for fusion and thermal plants
- protocol Fusion Overdrive: much more for 7 days
- the energy booster from the shop (Boosters)
When to add more?
A growing city needs more and more power. The first fusion power plant and one thermal plant last quite a while, but not forever. Add capacity in time, before new houses only appear as trailers.
