Steps 9 to 18: Industry

Pig iron mine, load, jobs, power distribution, growth, trade, industry, blast furnace, warehouse, thermal power plant and the three services.

Miner

Now the economy gets going. In this part you build up your entire basic industry and secure the city with police, fire department and hospital.

The steps

  1. Pig iron from the mountain: Industry → Pig Iron Mine into the green strip behind the parallel road. Then inaugurate it.
  2. Careful with the load: the mine starts at its lowest load. At full load it costs 5,000 $ in wages per hour, which would ruin you instantly. Keep it low.
  3. Jobs for the settlers: check a tile. The jobs value goes up because the mine brings work and does not stink.
  4. Who gets the power?: click the power plant. Arrows show how many megawatts flow where (Power and Distribution).
  5. The city grows: build roads and more open districts until the required number of houses stands. From here on Bit no longer tells you where to build.
  6. The dense district: shops below, apartments above. It belongs between housing and industry (Districts: Open, Dense and Industrial).
  7. Industry at a distance: extend the parallel road to the power plant side and zone an industrial district there.
  8. The blast furnace: it turns pig iron into metal. It costs 450,000 $ and 60 t of pig iron. Inaugurate it and keep the load low. The next loan installment comes with it.
  9. Warehouse and more power: a warehouse with three slots that you assign yourself, and a thermal power plant. Inaugurate both.
  10. Safety for everyone: build and inaugurate police, fire department and hospital, plus a small metal reserve. For the services the Authority grants the largest loan installment of 3,000,000 $.

After step 18

The learning phase is over. From now on the city runs at normal pace, and the services cost money every hour (Running the Services).
