Colony
Dense District
Shops below, apartments and offices above. Towers with up to 30 floors grow here, but only in very good conditions.
Manager
In the dense district the city grows upwards. Shops are at the bottom, apartments above them and offices in the towers. One tile costs 300 $. Every shop tile offers 4 jobs and pays 12 $ in taxes per hour, more in tall towers.

High-rises are not a gift
At first, shop houses with two to four floors appear. For taller buildings, safety, fire protection, health, education, entertainment, traffic, air and power must be right in the surroundings:
| Height | Condition |
|---|---|
| from 5 floors | all values at least 60 % |
| from 10 floors | all values at least 80 %, plus 3 kinds of entertainment and a bus stop or an access tower |
| from 20 floors | all values at least 90 %, plus 2 extras |
A skyscraper needs several hours to build and a lot of power. If a value drops later, no tower shrinks. It just stops growing.
What to watch out for
- Density brings crime. Place the Police so that its range covers the whole district, and give it enough patrol cars.
- Commerce needs customers. A shop tile counts on 12 residents nearby.
- Power: 1.5 times as much per floor in the tall towers. A full dense district quickly draws several MW.
