Hinterland
Free space in your districts fills up over time with caravans, shacks, tents and street food yards.
Tinkerer
Empty space does not stay empty for long in District Null. Wherever there is room in an open or dense district, the hinterland grows over time: caravans, shacks, small tent camps, junk corners and street food yards where people cook in the evening. You do not build the hinterland yourself, it grows on its own.

How it grows
- The first piece appears about 10 min after you zone the district, then another one every few minutes.
- If demand is high, it goes faster.
- At most 60% of a district's free space fills up this way.
- People who move in and find no job end up here. If unemployment rises, more tents appear.
Not enough roads
If more than 25% of a district lies further than 6 tiles from a road, the game reports Not enough roads. Hardly any proper houses grow there, only hinterland. Run a road through the district and real houses follow.
