Roads and Highway
Roads connect everything. Without a road nearby nobody moves in and no building can be built.
Commuter
Every district and almost every building needs a road nearby. You drag roads with the mouse. You pay per tile, 150 $ per tile of area.
| Type | Width | Cost per tile of length |
|---|---|---|
| Road | 1 tile | 150 $ |
| Wide road | 2 tiles | twice as much |
| Highway | 4 tiles | four times as much |
Which road for what
- The simple road is enough for residential districts with little traffic.
- The wide road is meant for the main axes between living, work and commerce.
- The highway is the fastest connection over long distances. Where a road crosses the highway, a cloverleaf interchange with bridge and ramps appears on its own, without any traffic lights.
Junctions are controlled by traffic lights. Where traffic jams build up, a roundabout helps, available in small and medium. Jams cost more than time: long commutes lower the value of your residential districts. Bus stops take cars off the road.
