DeutschThe Colonial Authority runs the settlement of AZ884. It sends the District Lords out, provides the starting equipment and gives a strong push during the first weeks. After that it expects every colony to stand on its own feet.
Founding
When the first fold jump of 2163 put the stars within reach, corporations, fortune hunters and sects all rushed out at once. The first outer colonies sank into chaos, hunger and feuds. Grand Admiral Aldric Severin Mahrkoven convinced the Mars Compact that only one single authority, with its own fleet and its own law, should steer the settlement.
On May 1, 2204 the Colonial Authority was founded in the citadel on Phobos. Mahrkoven led it for 41 years. His principle still applies today: whoever gets land, also gets duties.
How the Authority works
- The Azimuth Zone: the Authority's probe swarms surveyed and numbered a thousand worlds, from AZ001 to AZ999. AZ884 is one of them.
- District Lords: for every new world the Authority selects commanders who each build up one district. You are one of them.
- Seed money for results: the Authority gives a lot at the start and demands a lot afterwards. Whoever does not deliver loses their district.
- The Colonial Forces guard the corridors between the worlds. Since the Pack Wars they distrust any colony that grows too independent.
What the Authority gives you
- Starting cash of 150,000 $ for the first roads and districts
- Your first fusion power plant as a gift. Every further one costs 3,500,000 $ and 1,000 metal.
- The development loan in installments, interest free, repaid from your taxes (Development Loan)
- A kryptonite mine and a spice mine by transmission from the General
- The first district toward the river, almost for free (District Prices)
- The colonial license: you may upgrade the pig iron mine and blast furnace to level 2 without research (The Research Network)
What it demands
The Authority collects its installments without mercy. Loan repayment is taken from every tax payment first, before wages and shifts. In return it charges no interest.
The faces of the Authority are the The General and, in the finance window, the banker of the District Bank (District Bank of SpaceInvasion).
