Unlocking Districts
How to buy new districts at the holo fence, what happens with missing material and why special finds cannot be replaced.
Your city starts in a single district of 100 × 100 tiles. A glowing holo fence runs along its edge, with fog beyond. Every neighboring district can be unlocked.
How it works
- Move the mouse to the holo fence. On an edge with a district you can buy, the button "Unlock district" appears.
- One click flies the camera high above the new district. The purchase menu appears at the bottom: the district's name, direction, stock and requirement for every item, and what is still missing.
- Once everything is there the button turns green. Click "Unlock".
The fog rolls in, brightens, the fence shifts outward with a flash and a congratulations box welcomes your new land. The page does not need to reload for it.
If something is missing
If you lack money or material, the purchase menu offers to cover the rest with Urplasma at shop prices. Your existing money and material are used first, Urplasma only covers the rest. A second click confirms.
In the tutorial
Until tutorial step 19 all fences stay closed. Then you first unlock the district toward the river, almost for free (Steps 19 to 23: New Land). After that you choose yourself which way to grow.
What a new district brings
- room for new districts and buildings
- new rocks and mesas, often with rubies (Boulders, Mesas and Toxic Lakes)
- more residents and therefore more taxes
- the shop's resource packs grow with the number of districts (Resource Packs)
Prices per district are under District Prices, the names under Districts and Their Names.
